Typically crafted from fabric cut on the bias, bias tape is commonly utilized to neatly finish the edges of garments, particularly around necklines and armholes. Double-fold bias tape takes single-fold bias tape a step further by folding it in half and pressing the single folds inward.

There are two methods for sewing on double-fold bias tape. The single-step binding technique involves not unfolding the tape; instead, you simply enclose the raw edges of the item between the folded bias tape and sew it on, ensuring both ends are caught in a single line of stitching. Alternatively, the two-step binding method requires unfolding the bias tape, sewing one side on, folding it back over, and then sewing the other side in place.
